We’re extremely proud and excited to announce the Version 1 release of GivingData Grants Management! With our first client, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, launched on our grants management solution, we officially announce our arrival in the grants management marketplace.
“It’s an incredibly exciting moment for our team in deploying our product for the Hilton Foundation”, says Alf Gracombe, Founding Partner at GivingData. “We’re grateful for the support and partnership from the Hilton Foundation and our other clients in helping us reach this milestone and we look forward to the work ahead with other grantmakers in reimagining their grants management systems.”
For the past year, we’ve been partnering with the Hilton Foundation to not just migrate their data and documents from their legacy systems, but also to rethink how the foundation works with its grants data, integrates organizational learning, and position its work in the broader context of sector-wide standards for data sharing.
“We were pleased to partner with GivingData on a project that has improved our access to grant information and created structures for more sophisticated knowledge management,” said Edmund J. Cain, Vice President of Grant Programs at the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. “As we focus on organizational learning, the GivingData platform will be a key tool for our foundation.”
In working with the Hilton Foundation, we put to the test our hypotheses of the incremental migration their previous grants management system. The GivingData approach to systems migration is unique, deploying the product early in the process, gaining stakeholder buy-in and performing training over time, testing and validating data and document migration along the way, with the launch merely a formality. The stress and strain on the grants and program teams in deploying a large software system is mitigated, and disruption to the day to day work of the foundation is minimal.
While GivingData Grants Management is new, the product itself is not. GivingData is a mature, enterprise-class software product in use at grant making organizations large, medium, and small for the past 6 years. Our turn-key integration with MicroEdge GIFTS has long been the reason behind our success. And now we’ve added grants management. Fully web-based and mobile-friendly, integrated with Office 365, and with all the same great dashboard, data visualization, budgeting, and scenario planning capabilities for which GivingData has become known.
However, we’re not just a company with a great software product. We’re also a team with deep philanthropy knowledge and experience, brought together to build a mission-driven company designed to scale and serve the sector in both our product and our service offerings. Our approach to implementation is integrated, highly engaged, and client-focused. At the end of the project, you don’t just have a shiny new system — you have a solution that supports the way you actually work.
“Changing grants management platforms is one of the largest projects a grants manager can undertake,” said Allison Gister, Director of Grants and Knowledge Management at the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation.“ GivingData’s expertise in both the application technology and the “how” of grantmaking made the transition smooth for grants management and program staff.”
It couldn’t be more exciting to announce this new service and share the news with the sector. The road here has been filled with much learning and innovation, but in many ways our journey is just beginning. To learn more, please contact us at 617.500.3399 or info@GivingData.com.
